Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blow totch Shortly before Christmas, I was planning our desserts for Christmas day and my son asked for his favourite, Creme Brûlée. Although I know you can put them under the grill, after watching the television cookery programmes, I decided to look for a blow torch. I did not want to go into town as the shops were very busy, however I checked on line and Dunhelm had one in stock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value for money Does the job and produces a good flame consistently. Feels a little flimsy, which might be a problem if used in a professional kitchen, but it will only be used infrequently in a domestic kitchen and so it should last well. The only problem was that it came empty. Luckily I had a canister of lighter fuel in the garage.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from quite a small flame - fragile build I used this once to sear some meat, and when finished I accidentally dropped it on the floor - it shattered into about 10 separate pieces. Since then I've invested in a proper blowtorch which is much more sturdy. I wouldn't recommend this really.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value for Money Firstly, there are a number of reviews that mark this product down because it comes with no gas! It clearly states this on the description and is not a problem as any supermarket/newsagent will sell butane lighter gas cheaply. I purchased this item for Creme Brulees and it works perfectly. One fill of gas seems to last a long time and the flame is fully adjustable so that you can achieve the required temperature. Similar products will cost you £20+ in other stores - don't waste your money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good once gassed! So, as everyone else has pointed out this blow torch does not come with gas. This is mentioned on the web site but not on the packaging, so when you buy in store you don't find out until you get home. Very very annoying. I eventually picked up some gas (impurity free lighter fuel) from Poundland and once filled the torch works fine. I like the design and feel of the product, although its maybe a bit expensive for what it is.
