Rated 2 out of 5 by from very disappointing Husband bought me this as a first machine to make clothes for my 2 daughters.& had nothing but problems with it from something as simple as threading the bobbin, to all the stitching becoming knotted and getting stuck. it also makes an awful loud clanking sound which then the machine will suddenly stop. It also misses stitches.there isnt a light on it either very light weight and looks cheaply made I wouldnt waste your money, spend a bit extra and buy a more expensive machine. Will be returning for a refund.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value Absolutely love this machine, it's the first sewing machine I have used since I was at school, so had very little experience. It is so easy to use and works exceptionally well. So far I have only sewn smaller items, but planning a few bigger projects. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fab My 7 year old granddaughter ask me to buy this machine for her, ( with her Christmas money) she is very pleased with the machine, but disappointed there is no light, she has enjoyed her first few lessons making a doll and will be making the clothes in half term holidays

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice little product I use the product for household mending etc. I needed something lightweight and easy to handle. It runs a bit slow compared to my old Singer, but I am getting used to that. It has to be used near a window or a light as it is not easy to see. A light would be very useful. The needle threader is not much use as it is almost impossible to insert from the back

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money I bought this 15 months ago and used it a handful of times. It has been making a clunking noise and skipping stitches, but because it's out of guarantee Dunhelm and Janome are not interested. I can't even get the recommended local repair contact to reply to me. Just bought a Singer Promise. Still less than £70, but the quality is a hundred times better and it has a 2 yr guarantee. I want others to learn by my expensive mistake!

Hello I am interested in buying the Janome petite DMX100 machine. Does a mains adaptor have to be used with it, please? Does anything else have to be purchased extra to the machine in order to use it? Thank you best wishes Jane Stagg

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, thanks for your question. This uses a mains power supply, which is included with the machine, and nothing else extra needs to be bought with the machine. I hope this helps.

Will this machine sew Denim, ie shortening jeans or trousers?

Hello Tommy, thank you for your question. This sewing machine is suitable for denim as long as you have the correct needle. Please also be extra careful when sewing over the thicker side seams. I hope this helps.

Would this machine be suitable for stitching hems on jeans. thank you

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Tennis Lover thanks for your question. We would advise using the DMX200 or DMX300 for heavier duty tasks with sewing, these are designed for heavy materials and fabrics such as jeans or curtains. However, you could change the foot to accomodate heavier fabrics on this machine. I hope this helps. Kind regards.
