Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Ideal for large Windows The rod can not stay up without central support on a large window. I tried a numerous times to get this tension rod to stay up against my window which measures 270 cm and fell down each.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Extendible curtain poles Bought the largest size that extends to 3 metres. Wanted to use them for roof covering for conservatory roof instead of blinds. Really good cheap alternative but only just holding up as ends keep slipping down the painted walls so need an extra hook for support in the middle of each end. Lucky for us that the material is split into two on the poles so that we can do this. The middle one is bowing a bit under the weight of the material even though it really isn't a very heavy material. Poles need to be a bit more rigid but just do the job and work out considerably less than the quoted £900 for fitted roof blinds!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tension Rod Have had it for a few weeks, bought 3 in total. Very pleased with products the net curtains have not fallen off and the ease of installation without the need to make holes is great, plus can take them with me when I move house!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful! I bought 4 of these for my lounge window (approx 251cm in width) and 3 bedroom windows (approx 182cm in width). As soon as I hung my voile curtains on them they started bowing in the middle. Look awful and so I am hoping Dunelm will accept it as a return. I will now have to buy the more traditional wire. I rather use the wire and make holes in my wall as oppose to using the "hassle free" tension rods. They are not suitable for Windows more than 182cm in width.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect quick solution Purchased the tension rod for a small window that us hard to fit a blind in. Worked a treat. Quick simple solution to hang a piece of voile for privacy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from no good for wide windows Bowed in the middle before any curtain put on and wouldn't tighten up (240cm width) Probably only good for small widths. Good price and quality if it had worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wee thing! I bought this a few weeks ago as we were two curtain poles short. It is perfect for what we need. Our curtains are very lightweight and it supports them fine. Not sure how it would fare with heavier curtains. Incredibly easy to install (takes about 3 seconds). No fittings or tools required.

Would you please explain what exactly locks the tension rod in place and how this is achieved.

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi Ann, thanks for your question. The inside of the Tension Rod is spring loaded, and is comprised of 2 parts, the smaller piece and larger piece. The smaller rod is pushed into the larger rod causing the spring to compress, this causes tension that transfers against the walls. I hope this information helps.

Please can you tell me how these actually work? I am looking for something to put a pair of voiles (or a single panel) up at a newly fitted UPVC patio door (with a recess) I need something that will fit inside the recess (width wise)without making holes or attempting to drill into the UPVC. Will one of these work for me? My patio door is approx. 84cms wide... My neighbour told me she has some kind of extendable rod which just fits inside her patio door - is this what they do? But if so, how does the end bit stay/fit in the recess?! Many thanks if you can help me! CK Thank you

Hi, thanks for your question. The rods are spring loaded and naturally extend as far as possible. Pushing the two ends together make it shorter to allow you to put the rod inside the recess. Once it is in place, the rod will spring out to cause a tight fit in the recess with the anti slip ends. I hope this helps, thanks.

Are these suitable for a patio door width

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, thanks for your question. I am pleased to advise you that the tension rod will be suitable for use on patio doors, however, the largest width is 154cm–275cm and it will only hold light curtains. I hope that this information helps.
