Venice Wooden Dia. 28mm Curtain Pole is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 115.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unable to hang even light weight curtains! I appreciate that this is a cheap curtain pole but I did not expect it to be so poorly made that it is unusable. I am a curtain maker and I bought this pole for a 85 old customer who just needed a cheap pole for some lightweight curtains that she'd had made. These curtains were made from silk, therefore not heavy and despite Dunelms description stating "will display even your heaviest curtains with style and ease" the rings broke immediately when I attempted to hang the curtains. You can see from the photos attached what happened to the curtains and the damage caused to the rings. I therefore had to go to a competitor to purchase more rings at a cost of £9.98, which is nearly the price I paid for the pole in the first place. Very dissappinted in the quality of product and would definitely not recommend this product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheaply made Finial split on putting into the end of the pole as it hadn't been adequately drilled out. Husband annoyed as he has the whole pole up excrot for the one finial. I will be returning the finial for a replacement! The join between the poles is not straight but this is hidden as we have hung the brackets backwards so you cannot see the join. Cheap and will be cheerful once the finial is in place. Does the job for lightweight eyelet curtains but can only imagine that hanging pencil pleats from the rings included would not work well as the rings look very poor!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap rubbish i'm afraid!! Bought two of these - one for my daughters room, other for my sons room. It didn't come with 'enough' rings for the curtains so ended up using rings from both set for just one curtain pole...!! our curtains didn't even fill all the width of the actual curtain pole so was quite surprised at that. The main reason I am giving it a one star rating is the actual rings are made out of - similar to MDF! one broke/crumbled when I put the curtain hook on it and my son broke one as he closed the curtains one evening...! haven't even put my daughter up - will purchase a proper one from elsewhere. what a shame as looked nice on the internet...

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's okay Good strong pole , easy fittings but needs double the amount of rings

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bracket fixings a nightmare in plasterboard Previous pole brackets I've had from Dunelm were two piece: the first being a metal round holed backplate with threaded stud; the second being the timber bracket itself with female threaded socket to fit over the first part. The brackets I review here had the threaded bracket socket but no wall backplate merely a double threaded stud, one end to fit the bracket and the other consisting of a large coarse 'woodscrew' thread, to screw into the supplied wall plugs. This would be fine if you were fixing to a solid wall and use the wall plugs but they are completely unsuitable for plasterboard lined walls so you have to find and alternative fixing. Most plasterboard fixings use screw in metal or plastic plugs but these are too small to accept the large thread mentioned. The only way I could fix them was to use a large plastic spring type plug and even then I had to drill out the fixing and use the bracket to cut a thread in the plug before inserting same into wall or the twisting of the plug when screwing in the bracket caused the fixing to rotate, ripping out of the plasterboard and leaving a large hole and no way the bracket could stay fixed. Remedy:- go back to the original bracket design with backplates which can be used with standard plasterboard fixings and small screws or provide in the packs a tried and tested plasterboard wall plug Dunelm are confident will work!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value Our purchase of these curtain poles were for the bedroom and the curtains were lined - but not heavy. The window size is medium span. Excellent value, easy to install and look really good. The rings are a composite material and flat rather that the normal round wooden. However if you wish you can easily purchase wooden rings and it would still be a bargain. I would probably go for a more expensive pole if I were fitting curtain poles to large windows - and or if I were hanging very heavy curtains.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice simple curtain pole, instructions wrong! This is a nice plain curtain pole that looks great with my new rod pocket curtains. HOWEVER as others have commented the plugs supplied are a very tight fit with the screws. I did manage to get them in, but the instructions say to use a 5mm masonry drill bit... Well that's madness!!! It requires a 7mm to create a big enough hole!! Dunelm it's not difficult to get these small things right and make it straight forward for the customer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor quality Poor quality fittings, not enough rings on the pole and several screw eyes were loose and fell out of the rings within a couple of days. Putting the screw eyes back in was impossible as the rings kept splitting.

How many rings supplied with this pole

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, thanks for your question. One ring is supplied for every 10cm's on all of our poles. 180cm would have 18 rings and the 240cm will have 24 rings. I hope this helps.

Can the pole be cut to size to fit a very small window?

    Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, thanks for your question. The pole can be cut down to any size you desire, and if it will be shorter than 180cm I would recommend this buying this length of pole, as it comes in one single piece, rather than two which screw together, so will be easier to cut down. Please be advised that once cut the pole cannot be returned. Thanks.
