Gifting Ideas for Father’s Day

Dapper dads, gardening dads, foodie dads and grill king dads… there’s a whole lot of fathers out there hoping to be treated to a special Father’s Day (even if they pretend they’re not bothered).

We’ve pulled together our favourite ideas to inspire a fabulous father’s day with your dad, no matter what he’s interested in.

If he’s a grill master…

Edible gifts are often the best kind – they don’t take up any extra room to store and they can be shared (if the recipient wants to!). With this in mind for your grill master dad, stop by the butchers and get his favourite barbecuing meat or some new marinades for him to try.

If he can’t be separated from his TV remote…

Buy him a copy of his favourite film, cinema snacks and drinks, and get settled on the sofa together for a family screening in the comfort of his own home.

If he has a competitive streak…

Go karting, paintballing, bowling, board games, video games, blind tastings or trivia – challenge your dad to some friendly competition and you’ll be able exchange a bit of banter before one of your claims a victory and a year’s worth of bragging rights. (It’s up to you whether you let him win as his Father’s Day treat.)

If he’s green-fingered…

Gardening is time consuming and hard work, so treat your green-fingered dad to something that will make it a bit easier to achieve the look he’s going for. Faux topiary is the perfect quick fix for the manicured look, and you can’t go wrong with a novelty ornament peeping out from the flower beds. You could also treat him to a new cafetiere, teapot or bottle opener to be enjoyed while taking in his handiwork.

If he likes to take care of himself…

Usually spotted enjoying the finer things in life, the dapper dad will appreciate anything indulgent this father’s day. From lounging around the house in a luxurious dressing gown to starting the day with a premium coffee maker, spoil your favourite man by injecting a little luxury into his everyday life.

If he’s a bit of a foodie…

From appreciating the finest ingredients to being an old hand in the kitchen, foodie dads will love anything that will help them cook better and eat tastier meals. Get him a new gadget or upgrade his pans, or if your Dad loves to demonstrate, ask him to show you how to make his favourite dish and bond over the cooking process.

If all he wants is some quality family time…

Gifts are great, but the thing your dad will remember most fondly is the time you spend together. Take the whole family out for a walk, play a round of mini golf, head to a theme park, stroll along the beach, visit a tourist attraction or just enjoy a meal together.
