Our Tips for Upcycling on a Budget
2020 has been a very odd year, with everyone spending more time than ever within their homes, and there's nothing like staring at the same few walls to spur on some redecorating! If you're getting a bit fed up with your surroundings and fancy a refresh that's both simple and affordable, you're in the right place.
The summer of self-adhesive
Traditional wallpapering and tiling can be a gruelling experience for the novice decorator - there's just too much mess and stress when it comes to fiddly areas. Thankfully, we've discovered the wonders of self-adhesive wallpaper and tiles, which give all of the impact at speed, without mess, and without breaking the bank.
Our self-adhesive range includes wallpaper, wall tiles and floor tiles, which means pretty much every surface has a shot at a makeover. They're super sticky, so they'll give you a look that will last and a fit that's secure. No-one will be able to guess, but you'll be able to easily remove them when you're ready to move on to a new style. Their easy removability also makes them perfect for renters as you can have exactly the look you want while you're a tenant and peel it away when your lease is up. No damage, no rule breaking!
Our colleague Dani has been getting creative with our self-adhesive wallpaper and tiles in her home, and filmed just how easy it is to give your room a makeover. Check out Dani's DIY videos below.
If you don’t fancy wallpaper or tiles, a fresh lick of paint is another great option to give old (or boring) furniture a new lease of life. As with many things in life, preparation is key to success, so make sure you follow the directions to prepare the surfaces of your furniture in advance so the paint can do its thing and give you the quality, long-lasting finish you're looking for. Our colleague Sarah gave a wooden stool a shiny new look with metallic spray paint in the video below.
