Making good things happen, together
There’s only one thing we love more than homes, and that’s the people in them.
You make our communities the uniquely vibrant places they are, and we’re proud to be a part of them. Together we’ve been making good things happen, and there’s plenty more to come! From supporting nearby causes with fundraising and donations, to in-store events with freebies and fun — if you’d like to get to know your neighbourhood, have a chat and a giggle, and help us bring joy to even more of our community, our Facebook groups are right up your street.

Celebrating the difference our communities have made

We're delighted to be supporting Reach, a registered charity working with people who have learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire, on their innovative one-of-a-kind housing project. In just a few days, Dunelm colleagues delivered, unpacked and built 114 pieces of furniture to transform the house into a real home, ready to welcome 12 new tenants.

As part Dunelm’s business-wide charity partnership with Mind, SAMH and Inspire, you’ve helped us raise £1,000,000. Every fundraising event you took part in, every bag for life you bought, every cup of tea from our in-store Pausa Cafes, and every bit of spare change dropped into our tabletop jam jars has really stacked up. Thank you!

If you want to skip the planning but are still interested in fun get-togethers, over 30 stores have a Knit & Stitch group to bring the crafty-minded together. Between personal projects, these groups often make gifts for local causes, including care homes, premature babies, and presents as part of Delivering Joy at Christmas.

We know our communities are teaming with talent, and we’re delighted to share our space with local small businesses. For a £10 donation to Mind, you can host a pop-up stall in your local store - just get in touch with your local Community Facebook group to claim your spot. And keep your eyes peeled to take part in our summer fairs and festive markets.

Our community groups began in early 2020, as we all experienced life in lockdown and wanted to stay connected and put our skills to good use. Between us, customers and colleagues made 35,000 washbags for key workers, wrote 100s of cards to brighten the days of care home residents, while stores gathered donations to lift the spirits of carers too.
