Secret Santa Gifts
The annual Secret Santa tradition is now firmly rooted in Britain’s shops, offices, factories and schools. But drawing a random name and thinking of something to buy isn’t always quite as easy as it sounds. For a start, there’s usually a strict price limit on what you can buy (which is a good thing). But there’s also the problem that quite often you don’t really know the person well enough to choose something truly appropriate – and you can’t exactly ask them what they want, can you?
So Secret Santa gifts tend to fall into one of three camps: something silly, quirky or jokey; something generic, like a bottle of wine; or (on the rare occasion that you actually know the recipient well) something actually quite apt and possibly even moving.
First up, there’s the price issue. Well, that’s not a problem whatsoever. Simply put your maximum and minimum prices in the box under “Price” and you’ll only be shown the gifts that fall within that range. That’s perfect if your maximum or minimum prices are rigorously observed (or if you don’t want to spend a penny more than you have to on your manager).
Now you’ve ruled out a load of options, it’s down to finding the gift itself. As you can probably see, you’re spoilt for choice. But let’s face it, you’re probably going to go for the quirky one, aren’t you? Well, at Dunelm, you’ve found your perfect little elf to help you get the ideal Secret Santa present for that colleague. We’ve got tons of presents for those who don’t take life too seriously. From wacky toys and games to amusing plaques and signs, you’ll definitely find something to raise a laugh when everyone’s opening up their presents.
You’ll see plenty of food and drink-related gifts – they are always a hit, as everyone eats and drinks, and we always need a little more of both around Christmas time. From booze to biscuits, there’s bound to be a gift set that will bring plenty of festive cheer.
And if you do know what the person might like, there’s a host of “sensible” presents to choose from. These are generally the perfectly useful things like homewares and toiletries, the things that make great gifts for everyone else, so why not as a Secret Santa present?
With Christmas around the corner and the tree up in the office, it’s probably time to get your Secret Santa gift out of the way. Thanks to Dunelm, it’s a doddle.
