This modern chair with it’s unique print blends elegant traditional design with a bold celebration of the natural world. Its solid wooden frame provides timeless structure and support, while the intricately woven jacquard upholstery—developed in collaboration with the Natural History Museum—features detailed botanical and wildlife motifs inspired by the Museum’s rich archives. From spots and stripes to speckled patterns and maze-like designs, extraordinary markings can be found in abundance throughout the natural world. Animals adorn themselves with unique patterning for a variety of reasons – to blend into their environment to avoid predation, to send a warning signal, to attract mates and even to regulate their temperature. This collection celebrates just a select few of the many beautiful patterns that can be found in nature from the striking markings of the jaguar to the brilliantly vivid colours of a poison dart frog. With many of the species featured within this collection at risk or endangered, we want to shine a light on these incredible animals and raise awareness of threats to the security of their future.
