How do I mix and match cushions?
Ideally you want to pair cushions based on colours that are already present in the room to complement or enhance the look of a room and establish the tone that you’re going for. For example if your carpet or rug is cream then a cream or beige cushion might work well to enhance those tones in the room. Likewise you may want to consider the colour or style of other pieces that are present whether its coffee tables, chairs, wallpaper to help your decision making when choosing cushions. Perhaps consider cushions that contrast with your décor as they could add a pop of colour that stands out. Some of our most popular bright colours include red, yellow, ochre, pink, lilac, orange, green or blue. If you’re unsure, you can’t go wrong with a suble tone like black, grey, brown or white cushions.
How do I decorate with cushions?
As discussed above now that you have your matching cushions how you display can make all the difference. The rule of thumb you want to follow is a cushion for each seat so an armchair should have one whereas a three seater sofa should have three. However in the case of sofas you can bend the rules a bit by opting for more but smaller cushions to style the sofas or one big cushion per seat, the choice is up to you.
